Pearling Season International School (PSI) opened its doors for the first time in September 2014. Since that time the school has grown and currently operates from Early Years (Preschool and Reception) through to Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11), we will be opening Key stage 5 (Year 12) for the academic year 2108-2019. The school is centrally located in Doha, between two of the ring roads affording easy access.
The vision of our school drives what we do and we are committed to developing and supporting all our learners to be the leaders of tomorrow. We want our students to be 21st Century ‘ready’ and we want them to ‘think globally and act locally’. Everything we do within the school and through our curriculum is driven by our core values of love, empathy, discipline and respect. This is what drives us as a school and is what is visible in the learning and teaching that happens every day in our school.
PSI School offers the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which is further enhanced by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) at the primary level and Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum at the Secondary level. Cambridge Lower Secondary offers a flexible curriculum that is developed to suit our needs. There is a curriculum framework for each subject-English, English as second language, mathematics and science-providing a clear teaching structure. Each curriculum framework is designed to engage learners in an active and creative learning journey. In Years 10 and 11, the school follows the IGCSE syllabus developed by Cambridge International Examinations.
The majority of teaching staff are recruited from the UK and Ireland, with Arabic and French subjects being taught by suitably qualified native speakers. Our student body currently includes more than 52 nationalities, thereby ensuring a highly diverse and tolerant population.
